The Windsor Police Department is staffed by Sonoma County Sheriff Department employees through a negotiated contract between the County and the Town of Windsor.

The Police Department employs 23 full time employees, including the Chief, two sergeants, 13 officers, one K9 officer, one traffic officer, one school resource officer, one community services officer, and two civilian administrative staff.

The police department provides law enforcement services to the Town of Windsor including but not limited to:
* Patrol Duties
* Traffic Enforcement
* School Resource Officer
* Security for Special Events
* Conduct Investigations
* K9 Unit
