The Windsor Hometown Heroes Military Banner Committee is now accepting applications from family members to honor loved ones on active duty in the United States Military by displaying a personalized banner in their honor, in the Town Civic Center. Eligible candidates are required to be currently serving in one of the five service branches of the U.S. Armed Forces (Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard) and have a tie to Windsor with immediate family residing (past or present) or currently working in Windsor.
The application fee of $200 includes the Civic Center banner and a small replica souvenir banner that will be provided to the family at the Hometown Heroes Banner Ceremony taking place on January 27, 2019, in the Huerta Gymnasium. Financial assistance is available. Applications are due by Thursday, December 13, 2018. Banner installation will take place the week of Veterans Day.
To date, the Town of Windsor has hosted seven Hometown Heroes Military Banner ceremonies with the support and recognition of Windsor’s Hometown Heroes by the military community, businesses, officials, family and friends.
