Stage 2 Water Shortage Emergency in Effect
Drought On, Water Off
Although the recent rains in December 2014 have helped to replenish our local water supply reservoirs, a Stage 2 Water Shortage Emergency remains in effect. Please continue to do your part to reduce water use by ensuring automated irrigation systems remain off during the winter months. You can visit to get local, up to date information about our water supply condition.

  • Provide education about the limitations of our fresh water supply so people will pay greater attention to how they use water and take some action to use less.  It is more likely that people will place a higher value on conserving the resource when they understand that fresh water is scarce and finite.
  • Provide education about the benefit that water conservation offers by deferring the Town’s water supply infrastructure and maintenance costs, which lowers the long term price that customers pay to receive water and sewer service.
  • Provide practical assistance to our customers to help them reduce water use and lower their water and sewer bills.
  • Provide programs and develop policies that help facilitate the transformation of people’s habits and the products and technologies people use toward water saving alternatives.
  • Ensure that programs and policies are cost effective and lead to demonstrable and measurable water savings.
