2022 Redistricting

The Town of Windsor began its transition to district elections with the November 2020 election (see information on the transition here). Every 10 years, the U.S. Census revises their census blocks and local governments are required to use the new census data to redraw their district lines to reflect how local populations have changed. Assembly Bill 849 (2019) requires cities and counties to engage communities in the redistricting process by holding public hearings and/or workshops and conduct public outreach, including to non-English-speaking communities.

The Town of Windsor will begin its analysis of the 2020 Census Data and redistricting of its current boundaries. Below is a tentative schedule of public hearings to begin this redistricting process.

Maps Contribute to our redistricting process!

The Town is requesting residents to participate in its redistricting process by submitting maps with district boundaries that include their communities of Interest. The Town is offering two ways residents can participate in drawing their maps, by paper submission or by using an online mapping tool:

Paper Redistricting Kit - includes redistricting criteria and instructions.

Online Mapping Tool - see this instructional video and PowerPoint for helpful instructions on how to use this tool.

Please submit copies of your map(s) to Town Hall at 9291 Old Redwood Highway, Building 400, or mail them to the Town's consultant Best Best & Krieger at 18101 Von Karman, Suite 1000, Irvine, CA 92612 or via email at stephanie.smith@bbklaw.com
