Candidates for Town Council - November 3, 2020 Election

The Nomination Period opens Monday, July 13, 2020 and closes on Friday, August 7, 2020 at 5:00 p.m. 

Official nomination petitions for eligible candidates desiring to file for the above office(s), may be obtained from the Office of the Town Clerk, 9291 Old Redwood Highway, Building 400, Windsor, beginning July 13, 2020, through August 7, 2020, by appointment only. Due to COVID-19, Town offices are still closed to the public. However, the Town Clerk and Deputy Town Clerk will be available to issue and accept nomination papers by appointment only during the nomination period. 

During the open nomination period, each interested candidate meets with the Town Clerk and/or Deputy Town Clerk. Each candidate is provided a 2020 Candidate’s Filing Guide containing useful information and regulations regarding the election process and campaign. Candidates will also receive important documents to be completed and filed by the end of the nomination period. These documents include, but are not limited to the Nomination Petition, Ballot Designation Worksheet, Candidate’s Statement of Qualifications Form, Code of Fair Campaign Practices and FPPC Forms (mandated by the Fair Political Practices Commission). Note that the Town of Windsor is transitioning from at-large elections to a district-based election system. Since this is the first time when the offices of the Mayor and Town Councilmember in District 3 are up for election, there are no incumbents. Therefore, there will be no extension of the nomination period.
