Windsor, California (July 1, 2020) – The Town of Windsor is pleased to announce the transition of the Town’s animal services to North Bay Animal Services (NBAS). NBAS was awarded a three (3) year contract for full animal services including animal control/field services, shelters including veterinary services, and administrative including marketing and outreach. The Town Council unanimously supports the selection of NBAS to take over operations starting July 1, 2020. The agreement amount is for $216,000 annually valid for three (3) years with the possibility to extend the contract for up to two (2) annual extensions.
“We’re excited to provide the best animal services to the Town of Windsor! We are proud to offer services and programs working collaboratively with communities we serve that protect animal and human health.” Mark Scott, NBAS Executive Director
NBAS is committed to fewer homeless animals, greater pet retention, and happier pet/human families. Factors that made NBAS stand out during the RFP and interview process were total cost of services, a commitment to have an animal control officer in Windsor, contracting with local Windsor veterinary, social media and a variety of robust outreach programs. Recommendations received from numerous local government clients were stellar to boot. Even before their start date of July 1, 2020, Windsor residents have provided great feedback about services already received from NBAS.
