Town of Windsor Extends Virtual Operations through December 2020 in Response to On-Going Coronavirus Public Health Emergency

Windsor, California – In response to the recent resurgence of coronavirus cases in Sonoma County and on-going public health risks associated with person-to-person interaction, the Town of Windsor will continue to operate virtually through December 2020. During this time, most Town facilities will be closed to the public, including Town Hall, the Community Center, and Huerta Gym. Essential services such as police, fire, water, sewer, maintenance, trash collection and other vital functions will continue to be provided to the community. Administrative services will be carried out by employees working remotely from home to the extent possible in accordance with orders from the County Health Officer.

“It is important for the community to understand that although Town offices are closed to the public, our employees are still at work – whether it be in the field or remotely at home. We have adapted well to a virtual work environment and continue to provide most of the services we did before the pandemic,” said Town Manager Ken MacNab.

Town Council and Commission meetings are also being conducted virtually using video conferencing and telephonic conferencing technology that allows the Town to adhere to social distancing requirements, follow the Governor’s Executive Order N-25-20 (which suspends certain requirements of the Brown Act), and provide a way for the public to provide public comment live during the meeting without attending in person.
